Angie
Harmon was born to parents who were models,
so it was natural when she followed in their footsteps, beginning
her career at the age
of two days. Growing up in Dallas, Texas, she continued to model,
and when she was 15, she won Seventeen magazine’s national
cover girl contest. Just after graduating from high school, Harmon
was chosen as the winner of the Spectrum Model Search, with the
previous year's winner, supermodel Niki Taylor, presenting her
with the grand prize of $250,000.
Angie Harmon travelled to the glamor capitals of
the world while modelling clothes for designers such as Versace,
Karan and Armani, and appearing
on the covers of Harper’s Bazaar, Elle, Cosmopolitan, Esquire,
Vogue, Glamour and GQ. In 1995 she moved to Los Angeles to pursue
a career as an actress. After enrolling in acting classes, she landed
her first regular role on the television series Baywatch Knights,
which ran from 1995 to 1997. When the show ended, Harmon immediately
landed another regular role on the series C-16: FBI. The same year,
she made her feature film debut in Lawn Dogs (1997).
Her biggest break came when she was cast
as a regular member of the hit television series Law & Order
in 1998. The show, well-known for only keeping cast members for
a limited number of years, had
been a hit since arriving on the small screen in 1990. Playing the
role of Abbie Carmichael, Harmon suddenly found herself a household
name and stayed with the show for two years. She moved on to starring
roles in TV movies such as Video Voyeur: The Susan Wilson Story (2002)
and Sudden Fear (2002). In 2003, she made her return to the big screen
playing a CIA agent in the teen caper, Agent Cody Banks.
Angie Harmon met NY giants All-Pro defensive back
Jason Sehorn when she attended a Giants football game, and he arranged
beforehand, without
her knowledge, to propose to her when she appeared as a guest on
The Tonight Show with Jay Leno in 2000. They were married on June
9, 2001, and live in the Los Angeles area with Dakota (their dog)
and Madeline (their cat).
A natural beauty, Angie Harmon is
one of the faces for Neutrogena products.
