Leslie
Bibb (born November 17, 1974) is an American
actress and former fashion model. Bibb was born in Bismarck, North
Dakota and raised in Nelson County,
Virginia. Her father died when she was three years old. Later, she
and her mother, along with her three older sisters, moved to Richmond,
Virginia, where she attended an all-girls Catholic high school, Saint
Gertrude High School. In 1990, The Oprah Winfrey Show and the Elite
Agency held a nationwide modeling search. Bibb's mother took photos
of her then 16-year-old
daughter and sent them in. The celebrity judges, John Casablancas,
Naomi Campbell, Linda Evangelista and Iman were impressed and they
picked her as the winner.
After finishing her junior year, Leslie
Bibb flew
to New York City and signed a contract with Elite Agency. She modeled
over that summer,
and went on a trip to Japan. She returned home for her senior year
and graduated in 1992. Then she decided to attend the University
of Virginia. After a single semester, she dropped out and moved to
New York City to pursue a full-time modeling career. Her modelling
photographs have appeared in such magazines as Maxim and FHM. She
also attended the William Esper acting studio for three years. Bibb's
first film role was in the comedy Private Parts. This was followed
by her first television series, where she replaced the departed
Susan Walters as the female lead in the second season of The Big
Easy. Most critics panned the show and it was canceled months later
after low ratings.
In 1999, Leslie Bibb had her big break appearing
as a lead character on the WB Network television series Popular.
The
show
was a major
success among teenagers and led Bibb to more recognizable film
roles such as The Skulls and See Spot Run. Since then she has had
notable lead or guest roles on TV shows such as ER, Line of Fire
and CSI: Miami. Bibb also joined the cast of Crossing Jordan as
Detective Lu Simmons until season 6 where her character had become
a recurring character and was killed off.
Bibb played Will Ferrell's wife Carley in the hit
comedy movie Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby. She also
played Desiree in the
2007 production Wristcutters: A Love Story. She appeared as a Vanity
Fair reporter named Christine Everhart in the 2008 film Iron Man.
She was also in the role of Emma in Trick 'r Treat and, most recently,
the role of Maya in the horror/thriller The Midnight Meat Train.
Bibb can be seen in the TV show Atlanta in the role of Jessica, opposite
Freddie Prinze, Jr. In the 2009 comedy Confessions of a
Shopaholic, she portrayed the rival of the main character, played
by Isla Fisher. Bibb is also starring in a new movie called Miss
Nobody, for which she also serves as co-producer. She also had a
pivotal recurring role in Kings on NBC as Katrina Ghent.
Bibb is a spokesmodel for Revlon for Almay Pure Blends.
